YLD high schoolers is designed as a three-month training program that will enable youth to lead themselves effectively and empower them with solution-oriented servant leadership concepts to prepare themselves as a leader within their sphere of influence. deemphasizing positional leadership.
This program aims to empower university students to lead themselves effectively, connect with people, lead others, and change culture in their sphere of influence.
The program will be working towards transforming students of Ethiopian high school, universities /technical/ vocational institutions into future leaders. These leaders will be trained to think beyond their personal interests and lead their city, country, and continent towards a better future
“To produce well-rounded young leaders for Africa who have integrity with competent personal and leadership skills to contribute to their community geared by clear and viable life goals bringing joy to their respective community”.
The YLDP will be using multiple training tools including textbooks, classroom discussions, PowerPoint presentations, team-building exercises, community development projects and internships to create a ‘Way Forward’ for the leader-in-training.
First year of YLDP – YLDP l, will focus on self-assessment and self-management by the Young Leaders. ’. During YLDP l, the trainees will work on themselves , identifying their identity, personalities, strengths, and areas for character development which will be the foundation of any type of leaders they will become.
‘The Leaders-in-making’, the focus of YLDP ll, is all about equipping the Young Leaders with all skills, knowledge and attitude required for an effective and ethical leader.
The theme of YLDP lll is “ Growing together” . During this year, the community at large will be the canvas these Young Leaders will paint their influence on. Thus, during YLDP lll, the Young Leaders will be trained to understand and work with the community to bring about change for the betterment of the community.
